Sears Tower (Chicago) was sold in 1994, Sears retained the naming rights through 2003. Eventually, after a series of negotiations, it was officially renamed “Willis Tower,” the building’s largest tenant.

No self-respecting Chicagoan calls it Willis.
It will forever be “Sears Tower.”
